The Basics
Registered Name: Beautiful Liar
Registration Number: 1343
Nickname: Leah
Age: Four (Y10)
Breed: Thoroughbred
Colour & Markings: Grey
Height: 16.3hh
Gender: Mare
Personality:
Leah is as lively as they come. She's spirited and energetic, but focuses well in races. On the track she'll show off a bit until she is loaded into the gate, where she becomes a professional. During the race, she is responsive and usually puts her heart into every race. Off the track Leah is a little hot to handle, but generally a nice filly with no vices. She is also quite friendly with other horses, although she can sometimes develop grudges against those that beat her. Like her father, she is a bit of a character. She is passionate about racing, she has the competitiveness and fiery touch about her that makes her special around In Strides Barn. Previously owned by them, being back feels like a part of there heart has landed back with them. The filly is a very special part of the stables.
She likes to play in the paddock with the yearlings and she is very vocal. Despite the fact she is physically and mentally mature, playing with the yearlings not only keeps her amused, but keeps the yearlings amused. She has developed a bond with Imogen and they love to play in the paddock together and race each other up the fence, throwing in cheeky bucks and whinnying loudly. This display makes the staff at In Stride laugh because they know how much of a fiery but talented filly they have inherited from Star Thoroughbreds.

Loose Truth was also great on the track, despite running less than 20 times. She retired early with a record of 19-7-4-2 as a grade three racehorse. Racing Career
Race Record: 27-10-6-8
Consistency: 88%
Grade Two
Ground Preferences: Turf
Distance: 8-12 furlongs [Distance Extension Applied Y13]
Leg Type: Stalker/Mid-Pack
Racing Style:
Before the race, Leah likes to show off a little bit. She won't go over the top, and she won't do anything stupid. She likes to whinny, snort, and paw at the floor. When on the track and warming up, she will settle down, ready to stay focused for the race. When it comes to loading Leah, she shows no fuss - she just loads right in, despite the fact she can sometimes think the big metal machine is going to eat her. Leah breaks quickly and gets into position behind the leaders, or in the middle of the pack in bigger or top heavy fields. On the final turn she goes wide around the front runners and drives strongly to the finish. This strategy also works well for her in mid pack as she has a great closing kick. She will wait until the home turn to turn it up a gear and use her willpower to carry her straight along the inside rail and carry her jockey, Beth Harvey home, with strength and stamina remaining after the race.
