the information
Pedigree Comments
Cryin' Out Loud is an impressive stallion, having reached Grade One status on the track before retiring within seventeen wins. As a sire, Cryin' Out Loud has a number of foals the same age as Lucy including the impressive Sophie's Voice. Blood Of The Angel was unraced due to a fracture and so went straight to brood at the age of four. As such, there is little to be said about her. She has a twin brother, Tears Of Blood, owned by Silver Stride Stables.
Personality
Lucy is a very willing individual. She has a heart of solid gold and wouldn't harm a fly, unlike her aggressive mother. She is a blunt but very straight forward risk-taker, who will plunge into any task her jockey asks her. Lucy is the kind of horse that will try anything new, she will respond to everything and anything with quick, effective decisions. Her intelligence gets her quite far on the track. She is very responsive and quick-witted - in most cases she can't take no for an answer. She has a habit of rubbing her bridle on any near by post, which can often mean spending countless dollars on a new bridle.
On the track, Lucy is focused, stern, and stays that all the way through the race. She likes to break fast and relax behind the leaders. She doesn't have the dominant vibe of a traditional front runner, so if she does end up going for the lead, she would either go too fast, or go too slow, which is why she likes to relax behind the front runners. She isn't the traditional mare, she won't launch for you, or get all 'overprotective' like her mother was, she will relax, and go with the flow.

Racing style Preceder
Lucy is a stalker. She likes to stalk the leader, stay at her pace and leapt at the home stretch. She likes to build momentum, and tends to gain a lot of potential from staying at her pace and letting the front runners run on. Lucy is very easy to gate, and very quick to get away from the gate. She likes to position herself a couple of lengths behind the front runner. She doesn't have the dominant vibe of her father to set the pace of the race as she'd move too quickly or too slowly. Lucy is over responsive so uses the leaders to shadow the pace.

the feedback
Sunfrost - Under The Wire Stakes
The only thing that separated these two was some experience. Tears of an Angel is a Wire Finish Cup winner and has been out there racing for a while. She knew the game and was hard fought to win this over an unerringly determined Cross My Heart, who bought talent here today and refused to yield in the stretch. Talk about a speedy race!
Alexia - Cashcall Futurity
Lucy is a great filly. She has a very strong record which backed her up, her recent workout was amazing. She just generally stood out more to me than other horses today. Well done!
Cavallo - Best Pal Stakes
This was really, really hard and I hope these two fillies never face off again. SO HARD. It really could have gone either way, but Cross didn't have the fight in the end to nose out the win over Lucy, who was more rested and experienced in the higher races. Cross has proven herself for sure...winning recently in the higher races of her age and grade divisions, but Lucy has been there for a bit longer. Next time these two meet...I have no clue who will win.
Cavallo - Quick Start Sprint
It was age that hindered her here. These two fillies had the same amt. of starts...yada yada, but Sweetness Unlimited has been at this game for longer and she rose to the occasion this race. Tears Of An Angel though, should have learned a lot against this older horse and will be poised to take the win easy enough next go around. We all know she's a great filly!
